go Red Sox...

Spent last night watching the Red Sox smash the Indians and move on. I also watched Jack's Tokyo speech and read the eulogies from his funeral service. Wrote my own little eulogy to send to Lydia with the book. Everything came in the mail at the same time. I'll try and get that done today if I can. Well perhaps tomorrow.

It was nice to have James here over the weekend. Off to OHSU with Ro early this morning for his checkup.

I finished the little book by Naomi Wolf about the worrisome changes in the US. She makes it sound pretty scary here which it is when you think about things the way she presents them. Private armies, eaves dropping, loss of habeus corpus. I'm not sure I agree with everything she is saying, but I do agree we need to get over our apathy.

cats and bugs and what not on Friday 10/19

Claudia is definitely more spunky. I slept out on the couch with her which she seemed to like. She ate a couple of times. Olive is getting faster and bolted from the den despite precautions. She headed right for the back room; stopped to watch the dryer drying and did avoidance. Ogden found a giant bug in the front hall. It looked like three flies stuck together. It could fly. Incredibly ugly. I squished it. Berkeley was hiding upstairs as usual. Too early for Hazel.

I drove Hannah to school...discussing hypothesis and experiments and her day. Then I did a run at Bush Park, stopped at Starbuck's downtown, and off to work.

Still sad about Jack. Something on NPR triggered me remembering that he always called me on my birthday. That made me tearful. I have to remember to call Lydia that day.

sitting at Salem Rehab late afternoon

thinking of Jack and still not quite believing that he's not in the world.
